Props to the Band

No exaggeration, I believe Next Level has one of the three best worship bands in Charlotte.

Actually, I am convinced they are the best (no kidding) but felt the need for at least an obligatory dose of humility.

Better than their chops, they are all really great guys, kind and supportive and prayerful...not a prima donna in the bunch.

They make the blue room before the service (where musicians and teaching pastor gather to pray and review the service) one of the best places on campus!

When we went to three services on Easter, the band had to up their ante.

Check this out - they rehearse on Thursday nights, get to the campus between 7 and 7:30 AM on Sunday mornings and then play in three services. Because we always have a tune after the message they have to be there until 12:30, the very end of the third service.

That's a long time when you are getting paid...well...NOTHING.

Just wanted to let those guys know how much I appreciate them and value them. You guys rock...literally.

    Todd,
Thanks for your comment on my blog! It's good to hear some or perhaps all of the DVD's did get distributed. I'm not at all doubting your accuracy, but I wonder then where Driscoll got the impression the DVD were'nt handed out? He's not the kind of guy to make that up, so somewhere there must be a serious miscommunication going on. Either way, my issue with Hybels isn't about the DVD's, but about him taking a shot at Driscoll. I've followed Hybels for a good number of years, and that was really disappointing to me.

    Big Chris
    Because I said so blog

We have always tried to define our worship/work experience by the phrase "whatever it takes". And I really agree this band does just that....
Great band, great teaching, great church.

    Go God

I'm amazed that after hearing the band even one time, anyone could come late and miss them. These gals and guys put me into the frame of mind to hear God's Word to the fullest. Why would you miss 1/3 or 2/3 of the worship experiance. Praiseing, learning and giving are vital to us all. To have a great band start us off is awesome. Thanks band!!!

I aree with you Todd that we have the best church band in the community. Not that I have attended a lot of other churches but I know that when I attended my first church service at Next Level the band blew me away and it still does. Thank you ladies and gentleman for the great job you always do.
