Who We Want To Be, Part One

Friday, May 08, 2009
From our beginning a little over three years ago, Next Level Church has been very clear on our mission and core values. We have worked really hard to keep those two things aligned with everything we do. And we'll keep doing that.

As important as that is, it is equally important to talk about the kind of people we hope NLC produces as we live out the mission and values. I have been giving a lot of time and thought to that lately and I want to roll it out in the blog over the next week or so.

Put very simply, we hope NLC people can be described as growing in understanding and applying the Gospel personally and socially.

I am going to lay that out in a series of posts.

What is important to know for today is that "the Gospel" is not something you can draw on a napkin. It is not something that can be summarized in one sentence. And it is not the starting point for faith that leads to bigger, "deeper" truths later on.

The Gospel as we will define it and live it is everything. It shapes all of life and all of our thought. And it is meant to transform the world.

More to come...
