A Word on NLC Staff Transitions

Tuesday, July 27, 2010
One of Next Level's greatest strengths during our not-quite-five-years of existence has been the stability of our pastoral staff team. With few exceptions, our team has stayed intact. This has meant great teamwork and unity and a continued positive growth and momentum curve in every way.

With Doug Irvin's leaving our team for a great opportunity to serve as an Executive Pastor, we are faced with some important transition challenges. Realizing that we continue to operate in a challenging economic environment, we are not hiring a replacement for Doug. Rather, we are spreading out Doug's responsibilities among our current staff team. Here is what that will look like.

JARED KIRK, the only Student Ministries Pastor NLC has ever known, will take up new responsibilities as Pastor of Connection. Jared will lead our Life Groups ministry and also give leadership to assimilation (getting people involved in ministry) and guest follow-up. The time is right for us to have a pastor mostly focused on Life Groups and this is a great fit for Jared.

ROBBIE McLAUGHLIN will add pastoring middle school students to his current high school pastor responsibilities and will become our new Student Ministries Pastor. Robbie has a long background in youth ministry and this is an obvious fit for him.

MARK GILLMING will take on many of Doug's Sunday morning First Impressions responsibilities, insuring that the campus looks great and that guests are given a first class welcome in an irresistible environment.

Please be praying for all of these guys as they take on new responsibilities and for our team as we navigate good and challenging change!
