Carolina, Carolina, & Confidence...(ROBBIE)

Through this incredible new series we've been doing called "I Dare You," I've been gaining some completely new perspective on my confidence in God. Let me see if I can explain...

In week 1, we looked at Abraham, a guy who was obedient to God, even in the most difficult of circumstances. He was so CONFIDENT in God's ability to provide, protect, & come through, that he was even willing to sacrifice his son. He knew that even if he had to go through with it, that his God was big enough to raise his son from the dead.

In week 2, we looked at this guy, Moses. Now, here is a guy who had NOOO confidence in himself. He made every excuse in the book so that he wouldn't have to obey God. But God made it clear, that it wasn't his ability, but rather, God's ability that would see him through. So, at the end of the day, the one thing Moses couldn't argue with, was his CONFIDENCE in God's power.

Now, I'm a carolina boy, through, and through. I LOVE my Carolina Panthers. I LOVE my Carolina TarHeels. But in 2009, my LOVE for them does not translate into CONFIDENCE for these teams. Unless we throw a couple million more dollars into TarHeel football recruiting, I have NO CONFIDENCE in seeing a program of national note. Unless Jake Delhomme breaks an arm, and John Fox get hit by the same lightning bolt as John Travolta in that movie "Phenomenon," then it will be a LONG time before i have CONFIDENCE that the Carolina Panthers will wear Super Bowl rings.

There is such a difference between love, and confidence. No matter how much Abraham & Moses loved God, it probably wouldn't have led them to the daring obedience that their CONFIDENCE in God led them to. Over the last several weeks, God has been reaffirming my CONFIDENCE in his power, in in his ability, in his faithfulness, in his mercy, and in his stregnth.

Let me challenge you with this...be CONFIDENT in who God is, and what he wants to do in your life. Be CONFIDENT in His plans. Be CONFIDENT that has your best interest at heart. And, be CONFIDENT that no matter what tough decision he leads you to, he WILL walk with you every step of the way, and WILL NEVER LET YOU GO.

No, I wouldn't put ten bucks on a Carolina, or a Carolina game, but I'd put all the money in the world on the GOD of all creation! Go ahead, make the tough decision...walk the unclear road...be confident...I DARE YOU!
