Four Questions To Ask Before Making a Big Decision

A few things to ask before taking a big step...

1. Have I considered not only the intended consequences of this decision but the UNintended consequences?
Most big decisions have ripple effects that we don't see coming - they are not straight up cause and effect. Have I thought through what these could be?

2. Have I sought wisdom and counsel from others?
It's all too easy to stay inside my own head when I am thinking through a decision. It's amazing how much insight can come when I ask the advice of others more experienced or wiser than I am. Like this verse says...

3. Does this decision advance or inhibit the work God wants to do in my life?
And if I am not sure, which is most likely? And be deep down honest about your answer.

4. Have I asked God for his wisdom in making this decision?
This is the most important question of all. It's a great idea to commit these verses to memory, and refresh your memory often!
