"That's why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ's mighty power that works within me" - Colossians 1:29
Observation
Amazing crystal-clear balance between our striving all out yet depending utterly on Christ's power within us, which must be the source of our strength.
Application
It is hard to imagine where this does NOT apply! The context is spiritual leadership - Paul serving his people with all he has while never forgetting that any power that he has comes solely from Christ. But it applies to every area of life: battling sin, confronting challenges, raising children, maintaining integrity and purity. We are to go all out but realize that our power does not come from us.
Prayer
Lord, this is a great, completely clear reminder that any power we have to accomplish anything in life is only the result of your power working in us. So, first - thank you for working in me, thank you for your power. But it is also a reminder that life and leadership is a battle and requires the very best of me. Help me to go all out, but to do so while being energized by your power, relying on you and not me!
