Behind the Scenes: Video (Harrison)

One thing I like about my job is making videos to show on Sunday mornings. Examples would be countdown videos, pre-teaching videos, and those supremely stupid videos Jared and I make every so often.

Our current series, The Warrior, is a blast to make videos for. Let me tell you about this video I made for Sunday. It is a video that played as the doors to the auditorium opened, as the countdown clock hit five minutes. This video had a red banner at the bottom that said The Warrior, and for the next five minutes, some amazing fight scenes were playing over top of some pretty epic music.

I wanted to find some classic kung fu kind of scenes, and what I came up with was a little off target in that sense, but it still turned out great. I opened the video up with this amazing scene from the movie, The Fountain. Check out this pic:

In case you can't see, that's Hugh Jackman doing sweet kung fu stuff as a silhouette with stars behind him. Great video material. Add to that music from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and clips from the Matrix Trilogy and Kill Bill, and you have a pretty sweet video. At least, I enjoy watching it! And that usually works as a benchmark for me... if I like watching it after working on it for hours, mission accomplished.

So, there is a little bit of a look at what goes on behind the scenes! The reason we work so hard on making cool videos like this is that we want anyone to feel comfortable at Next Level, and a pretty good way to make people comfortable is showing them something really funny or really cool and making them forget for a bit that they are at church.
