Party Like Jesus

The gospels, the authorized biographies of Jesus' life, are filled with references to Jesus partying.

Granted, he's not partying like Paris Hilton, he's partying with a purpose.  One of the great stories is in Matthew 9.  Here Jesus is at a party at the house of a notorious tax collector and other sinners.  When he was questioned about his presence at such an event by the Pharisees he replied, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."  Or in other words, Jesus is saying.  "I've got no place for self-righteous religious people in my life.  Instead I'm going to build relationships with people who know that they don't have it all together and desire to find God!"  What an incredibly response.

Many Christians struggle to live like Jesus because we become so self-contained in our church activities that we hardly no anyone who's not a Christian.  But Next Level Church is intentionally structured to allow you to do this.  We don't do Sunday night services, Wednesday services, visitation, or brunch.  We do Sunday Service, Life Groups, and Service Opportunities.  That's it.  It leaves plenty of space to invest in your disconnected neighbors.

Still don't quite know what to do?  I suggest going to a Movies in the Park event sponsored by Next Level Church.  And instead of going, sitting in a bubble, watching the movie and going home, why not be like Jesus.  Reach out, make some new friends, invest in people and party like Jesus
