Blooming (Harrison)

Some churches seem to not like second chances. I say this not as a judgement, nor as a fact, but simply as an observation. I see the way Christians sometimes feed their own to the lions and the way they don't let "outsiders" in. Again, that's just my opinion.

What I love most about what I do is that I get to see people come through the doors of the church who are on their fifteenth chance, their seventy-third chance, their I've-stopped-counting-a-long-time-ago chance.

Paul said in the New Testament book of Philippians, "Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I say, rejoice!" Here was a guy who understood second chances. Paul was public sinner number one and God woke him up from death and brought him into new life. He woke up to the Good news of Jesus and it utterly changed him. He knew that even in the darkest of darkness, he could always depend on the promises of God.

Spring is here and new things are blooming all the time. There is warmth in the air and the sun is shining, and there is always hope, always a new season for those who are in the dead of winter.

Are you in need of an awakening? Are you in need of Spring? Then rejoice in the Lord, for a new thing is coming!

There is always hope. There is always peace for those who act boldly for God.

Rejoice.

Come alive.

Wake up!

A new season is here and there is always a second chance!
